Mr.Clean: 50 Shades of Bleach

Mr.Clean: 50 Shades of Bleach
Super Bowl LI

Everyone knows that the best part of the Super Bowl is the commercials, right? The one that took me, and many others, by surprise was the Mr. Clean commercial. Mr. Clean is known for making rooms spotless by a single swipe of his magic eraser, but this year he took his cleaning to an all new level. Mr. Clean had so much suave and seductive tendencies toward the woman in the commercial. Via Twitter, the Mr. Clean commercial was like the preview to a 50 Shades commercial! New year, new buff Mr. Clean because hey, you gotta love a man who cleans! What a great marketing tactic, great job!

Weekly Kawasaki Tips and Tricks to Master Social Media: Week Two

This week Kawasaki is helping us learn
how to rock a Twitter chat

A Twitter chat is a live, in action event in which people include a hashtag in their tweets to discuss a topic. There is a host who tweets a question with a hashtag and guest tweets respond including the same hashtag. The hashtag can be searched by audience members to see what is going on and become a part of the Twitter chat, providing comments and retweets.

Kawasaki provides many great tips to make sure the next time you are participating in a Twitter chat or are acting as the host, you are well prepared!

Key aspects:

1. Pick a Short, Evergreen Hashtag
A short, to the point hashtag is much more impactful than a long strung out sentence. When the hashtag is short it requires less typing for the users and allows more characters for the actual tweet. Remember, KIS, keep it simple. Keep it short, easy to spell, and easy to remember. The same hashtag can be used over again and it will become more effective.

2. Type Fast
Slow and steady is not winning in a Twitter chat - speed is everything. The faster you can type, the more you can respond. Kawasaki mentions your goal should be to entertain, interest and inform in fewer than 140 characters and in less than 30 seconds - yikes. I suggest practicing your typing skills, maybe do some finger pushups and really work on that dexterity.

3. @mention Your Responses
When you are responding be sure to @mention the person you are responding to. Do not subtweet! This is not the time, nor place for petty tweeting. Be direct, and make sure the person you are directing a message towards knows that you are responding to them.

If you remember only one thing, please remember to include the hashtag, as it is the most important part.

I wish you the best always,
Kawasaki's love and mine.

#BoycottStarbucks

#BoycottStarbucks No.1 Twitter trend as
Trump supporters vow to boycott Starbucks

Wait what? Boycott Starbucks? Who would anyone ever give up their beloved Starbucks. Well, many Trump supporters have vowed to boycott Starbucks after the CEO released some controversial news. President Donald Trump has been diligently working to accomplish all things he said he would. Just recently he has banned refugees from predominately Muslim countries, and the CEO of Starbucks decided to get involved. Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, announced that in the next five years he would hire 10,000 refugees. Mr. Schultz was astonished by Trump's immigration ban and announced the hiring of new Starbucks employees to be among refugees. As a result to the actions of the Starbucks CEO as of January 30th, Twitter reported their No. 1 trending topic as #BoycottStarbucks.

A common trend across Twitter using the hashtag #BoycottStarbucks with commentary questioning why this company is taking away jobs from Americans.

On the contrary there are also anti #BoycottStarbucks questioning the hashtag. Tweets such as: @mtaibbi "The #BoycottStarbucks movement- aimed at the company because it promised to hire refugees - is America at its most ignorant."

Who is right and who is wrong? You decide!

Keeping Up With Jordan

Hello everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. This weekend, my boyfriend Dan and I ventured to Columbus for a day trip. Our first stop was for doughnuts at The Little Donut Shop! This doughnut shop is known for their gourmet little doughnuts. We purchased half a dozen. Our flavors of choice were as follows: cookie dough, Oreo cheesecake, cinnamon roll, sprinkle, birthday cake and worm in the dirt. Our next stop was Easton Town Center. If you have not been to Easton, you need to go as soon as possible, as this is one of the best malls in Ohio. At Easton we shopped around for a few hours and I purchased a dress for the conference I will be attending this weekend. So here is the best part of the trip - while we were at Easton, we stopped by Tiffany's. One of their salesmen smooth talked me into trying on one of their diamond engagement rings! (this seriously did happen). I have to admit, there is nothing in the world that sparkles like a Tiffany diamond (uh-oh, future husband warning). Dan was just about to pass out from the price tag, so I led him out of the store to continue shopping. After Easton, our next and final stop was at the German Village. Dan is of German heritage, so we thought it would be fun to check out the historic town. The little town was very quant with a few family owned restaurants and historic sites. Dan and I decided to have dinner at Schmidt's Sausage Haus. Schmidt's was delicious; for dinner I had one of the most well-known German dishes called pork shank. It is always great to get away, even if it is just for the day.

Check out some of our photos from the weekend!

Until next time, XOXO

Keeping Up With Jordan

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! Remember, there is only three more days until Friday!!

Keeping Up With Jordan is a section  all about me! Weekly I will inform you about something new in my life or reveal a passion of mine or just tell you about things I like!

Smashbox Contour Kit
Sephora, $45
So, this past weekend I ventured out to the Lima mall in search of a new contour kit. When I say new I mean I just needed a new one because I was out of the highlighter color. I have been using the three shade contour kit by Smashbox (pictured to the right). I have tried numerous different palettes but I felt as though this one was the most practical, being that it is small and compact, and also it does the best job!

Anyway, so back to my story to the mall. So, being that Lima mall is limited on their stores I did not expect them to have much, but they do have a limited Sephora located in the JCPennys. When I say limited, there are different kinds of Sephora stores, some that carry all of their brands and others that only carry a selected amount, so your wont find one of my favorite products such as the Laura Mercier translucent powder at a limited Sephora store.

Well I went to this Sephora in the mall, in search to purchase a new contour kit. On my drive I was also thinking about how I needed a new eyeshadow palette since, I do not have one at school right now because I have been sharing one with my sister at home (actually not one, she have four that she does not use, but that is another story). When I arrived at Sephora I lost track of what I came for, as usual, and found myself looking at different eyeshadow palettes, but then I got back on track and that is when i found the Smashbox SHAPEMATTERS Palette and well I fell in love. For $55 at Sephora I could not only have my favorite Contour Kit (plus a cool new shimmery highlighter) but I was also getting nine new eyeshadows and some stuff to do my brows (did not plan to use this because I love my eyebrow pencil but hey this was just one more reason to purchase the palette).  After justifying that this awesome new palette was a way better economical decision than just the contour kit I made my purchase!

Smashboc #SHAPEMATTERS Palette
Sephora $55
I had have this palette for about a week now and I LOVE it! The contour is the same as the smaller palette that I have always used. The additional shimmery highlighter is great and gives you that additional shine that everyone needs. The eyeshadows are also fantastic. They range from a light to dark neutral shades. I even love the eyebrow pots on the left side. Included is an eyebrow wax and filler color.

In addition to these great products inside you are also given a large mirror and a pretty great eyeshadow brush. I would recommend purchasing the Smashbox contour brush to go along with this palette. I have one which came with the small three color contour kit, and it works perfectly!

Weekly Kawasaki Tips and Tricks to master Social Media: Week one

How not to have your profile
end up making you the laughing stock
to what could have been
your future employer.

Wow, what a cute picture of you and your best friend sipping Mai Tais on the beach in your favorite new itsy bitsy tiny yellow bikini. Clever album title my friend: 'Spring Break 2015!'

*employer: holding resume that states expected graduation May 2018*

Little did you know that you have just been snap shot judged and passed to the NO pile of being considered for what could have been your dream career. What could have been your future employer knows only what is presented right in front of them. You told them you plan to graduate in 2018 so it is automatically assumed that you are at a four year university and that you started your college career in 2014. It is assumed you start college at the age of 18. From the lack of attention to minor detail you have not only given that you were underage drinking which allows the viewer to assume anything they want to (you wont have your chance to explain that it was maybe just a virgin daiquiri). Oh and Spring Break 2015, thats a lot of great content that I am sure granny would not want to see, let alone someone you wish to work for.

Kawasaki is here, have no fear! Chapter one of "The Art of Social Media" shares how to Optimize Your Profile. This chapter includes great information on what to do to make your profile attractable and also brand consistent, but I wanted to dive deeper into this. Before we want the whole world to see your profile we need to understand what NOT to do. We want to fully optimize the endless possibilities of what a good profile can do for you and eliminate the chances of you becoming the laughing stock of what could have been a future employer.

1. Pick a Neutral Screen Name
Kawasaki includes making your screen name simple and consistent. So, @bigbooty, thats ok right? NO, think again. Not only the simplicity and the consistency is important here, also the content here is extremely important. Your username is the first item presented to the world, be careful, be smart ... granny is out there.

2. Optimize for Five Seconds
"People do not study profiles"
This is simple, employer sees one item of content that makes you appear not sutiable or risky, your chances have just become so streamline you're likely to not make it in the door. Your bikini, drinking photo was presented loud and clear and that was the end to your chances. The employeer is not searching through your feed to find your wonderful family photos or latest philentrophic event you hosted.

3. Focus Your Avatar on Your Face
It is important to validate who you are and make sure people are not confused on who this profile belongs to. So, picture of me in my bikni, holding my favorite drink, thats perfect right? NO, again content here is very important. Pick a photo that you want to represent who you are. Your avatar or profile picture, can be compared to a first impression encounter. First impressions cannot be altered.

4. Stick With One Picture
Kawasaki knows best, use the same profile picture across all platforms to maximize optimization. *apply my what NOT to dos in this as well, NO biniki photos are not ok on Twitter because we know for a fact that are not for your Google account*

5. Craft a Mantra
Tagline are a great way to present who you are to the world in a few simple words. So remember you want to always put your best foot forward. This includes no vulgar language, no rude messages, be clean, proper and competent. No line is better than a bad line.

6. Tell Your Story
Tell a story about yourself that you would want to tell an interviewer in an interview. Simple. Think, breathe and remember granny is watching.

7. Get a Vanity URL
A vanity URL is a way to make your profile more searchable. This is a step you would take AFTER you clean up your profile making it PGE (parent/granny/employer) rated. If you decide not to follow these what NOT to dos, maybe you should look up how to make your profile as not vanity as possible - hide all you can while you have the chance!!

8. Finish the Job
"People will make a snapshot decision based on your avatar, tagline and cover/header"
You go glenn coco, you know what you need to do from here!

9.  Go Pro
Be a pro and master the media. Don't fall short to the temptations of the endless possibilities, integrity is a great word my friend.
Once we understand our Nos we are ready to go pro and let the world connect with us across all platforms!

10. Go Anonymous
Now is your time to shine, check your work! Hey, maybe even invite Granny and bring some popcorn to check out your darling great interview, PGE aceeptable profile and enjoy!

I wish you the best always, and i hope that you never lose your dream career due to your media.

Until next time,
Kawasaki love and mine

Ralph Lauren to the Rescue

Melania Trump is not a new face in the fashion world, but First Lady....that's a new one. With the inauguration approaching as her husband, Donald Trump, takes the presidential stage, Melania was also about to enter the presidential limelight. As "first lady elect" who she was about to choose to wear for the inauguration was about to be one of the largest, if not the most important, decisions she has ever had to make - fashion wise that is.

This well known model and fashionista has a history of favoriting mostly European designers. While always looking flawless, her taste in designers is nothing less than exceptional, and is usually never questioned. But this time around, who she is wearing is a make or break for her.

One of the most grueling questions people have been anxiously awaiting to know was will she continue with her European designers or choose American? (We know what she better choose to make it out alive from the media and follow the "All American Plan" of MAGA)

There are wonderful "non-american" designers that would have been perfect for Melania, if she was not about to become the first lady to one of the most controversial president elects that is....

So, who will Melania choose? American? European?

Ralph Lauren to the rescue, the AMERICAN designer was the choice for Melania on Inauguration Day! For the daytime ceremonies, the first lady chose a RL powder blue dress and matching coat. She paired the structured jacked with pointed stilettos and leather gloves to complete the monochromatic look.

FUN FACT: Melania's Look was very similar to that of Jackie Kennedy in which she wore on her husband's inauguration in 1961! Coincidence or Not? You decide!
